Grin and Bear it

Our 2010 season kicked off with the typical Seward weather. Clouds and rain! Despite the less then desirable weather, we have had excellent wild life viewing! We have had the opportunity to view whales, porpoises, goats, seals, sea lions, otters, and even a few bears! Sometimes the clouds get in the way of the view of majestic mountains, but what some do not realize, that those days can be the perfect day to see something incredible. This time of year is perfect to look for bears. They have crawled out of their dens, and there is not a lot of foliage on the trees and bushes on the mountains yet, which makes them simpler to spot. So when and if you decide to come down to Seward for a cruise, remember that the sunny weather is nice, but it is possible to see something incredible on the “normal” days.
